As unFrench as frosting

I didn't think it was possible. I don't like to generalize but French kids just don't like frosting.

But the kids at Suzanne's birthday party did ! and so did I....

My favorite cupcake recipe comes from the Primrose Bakery cookbook. I adapted it to the French products and taste, as below. You can make these cupcakes chocolatey by adding a couple spoonfuls of cocoa powder or lemoney with a bit of lemon juice. But they are best eaten plain with some delicious frosting which I also adapted accordingly.
